Origins Prayer Course Published by 24-7 Prayer

What is it?

This is a six week prayer course designed to teach young people how to pray and to give them a good foundation on which to build their relationship with God. Week by week the sessions will guide you through the ‘What, Why, Who and How’ of prayer. By breaking prayer down in such a way it allows young people to engage without feeling overwhelmed.

The best part is that it is more than some material for your ‘talk time’, it has fully planned out 6 1 ½ hour sessions, with ice breakers, games and even recipes! It also includes a challenge for you to set for your group each week to encourage them to make prayer a regular part of their lives – it might even challenge you too!

Who is it for?

The course is aimed at Youth Groups with young people ages 11-18, personally  I think that it would be more suited to the younger end of this age group. The course is aimed at all young people no matter how strong their faith is; however  I would use this with a group who are more open to exploring and discussing as by week two the sessions require public participation which may be too much for some.

Where can I get it?

We have a copy here at the Diocese in the Resource Centre that you can borrow or it can be purchased from the 24/7 prayer website. You can find all the resources to accompany the course here.

If you use this course then we’d love to hear from you! Please let us know how it went so that we can share any feedback.
